Green Hand Projects is a full-service consulting agency specialized in financial, environmental and social impact projects.
Carson Ross and Matthew O’Neill founded Green Hand in 2024 with the aim of combining their expertise in climate project management and impact finance, respectively, in order to support companies and organizations to be both effective in their program implementation and financially successful through sound and efficient business practices.
Hi. I’m Carson.
I’m an environmental and community development advocate with more than ten years of experience in sustainability and environmental management. My approach to work centers environmental justice, and when evaluating the long-term outcomes of a project I ensure the broader social impacts of the work are considered at every point in the process.
Having lived and worked in North America, Africa, and Europe, and taken part in local, regional and global scale projects, my perspective is grounded in listening to and serving local needs to inform catered solutions.
I arrived in this sector through my combined love of the outdoors and food. My love of cooking led me to gardening and agriculture, and opened my eyes to the ways in which something as integral and widespread as food production can be the cause of so much destruction, degradation, and suffering — but also healing, resilience, and beauty. Through this lens I’ve explored our relationship to land, animals, and one and other. I believe to heal our environment we need progressive, science-based policy and international coordination — AND that individuals and small groups have the power to make a difference.
My expertise includes hands on field research and data collection, data analysis, monitoring and reporting, compliance with US and EU environmental policy, project management, stakeholder management, events management, and media production. I have an MPA in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and a BA in International Development from McGill University.
